We need your suggestions for our Pastor Search Committee!

Dear VHBC Family,

As the Transition Team approaches the final Congregational Conversation, you have probably concluded that congregational input is vital to the selection process of our new Pastor. The selection of the Pastor Search Committee is no exception. That is why the Nominating Committee is seeking your input for the next phase of our selection process. We are asking that you prayerfully consider suggesting names to serve on the Pastor Search Committee.

Some names to suggest may come to mind quickly. Other names may emerge after much thought and prayer. One of our goals is to select a Search Committee that is as representative as possible of the whole church. The list below is not exhaustive, but we thought the following prompts may help all of us in this process.

Whom would you suggest that is thirty-five (35) years of age or younger?
Whom would you suggest that is sixty-five (65) years of age or older?
Whom would you suggest that is between the ages of thirty-five (35) and sixty-five (65)?
Whom would you suggest that is in a different Sunday School class than yours?
Whom would you suggest that participates in the Music Ministry?
Whom would you suggest that works in the College, Youth, or Children’s Ministries?
If there are more people of one gender on your list, whom would you suggest that is of the opposite gender?
Who do you feel is capable of prayerful discernment of God’s will for the church over personal opinion?

Practically speaking, the number of people elected to serve on the Pastor Search Committee will be limited, however, your suggestions are not. Please submit your suggestions using the link HERE or by contacting the Church office by Monday, June 14.

We also ask that you please pray for discernment for the Nominating Committee and the Search Committee.
