Henry White Announces Retirement After 42 Years

Henry White to Retire as Facilities Manager

To Remain on Facilities Staff in a Part-Time Capacity

Where were you in June of 1980? Henry White was beginning what has become a 42-year career at Vestavia Hills Baptist Church. Through the years, Henry has been a reliable and invaluable contributor to most every element of our church’s ministry. He has repaired what’s needed fixing, setup for all our programs and special events, ensured the building has looked its best, assisted staff and laity at every turn, offered his friendship to us and our children, and exhibited a kind and helpful spirit through it all. We have always been able to rely on Henry, his joyful spirit, resourcefulness, patience, and dedication.

There is no adequate way to express all that Henry means to us. We are so grateful for his friendship and his commitment to VHBC. Though Henry is retiring from his full-time position with us, his desire is to continue on a part-time basis, working a few hours a week. Henry will end his full-time employment at the close of February.

We are looking forward to celebrating Henry’s years of service. Plans for a recognition event are underway and details will be forthcoming. Love offering contributions may be made through the church office. In the meantime, be sure to express your gratitude to Henry in the coming days.
